Evil Dead The Musical Looking for New Blood

LAS VEGAS - January 6, 2014 EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL Ultimate 4D Experience, the Las Vegas hit that plays at the V Theater in Planet Hollywood at the heart of the world famous Las Vegas Strip, is expanding the number of performances each week. Currently it plays Fridays and Saturdays only, but beginning in February that will change to 4 nights each week and, this summer, that will change to 6 nights each week.

With this expansion comes the need for additional cast members for the show.

"This show's success is a combination of many factors," says the show's producer and director Sirc Michaels, "Not the least of which is an amazing cast that give the show their all in every performance. We have a great time doing what we do, and we are looking forward to adding to the ranks."

2 Male and 3 female performers are being sought for positions. Ages are various.

Interested persons must meet the following criteria:

1. Located in Vegas.
2. Able to sing.
3. Have comedic timing.
4. Love to have fun onstage.
5. Be 18 years of age or older.

New Survival Horror Game Changes Every Time You Play

I'm not much of a gamer... I played Dead Island a few times with my son when it first came out but I found myself losing interest pretty quickly. However this new game, Daylight, might be something for me. It's a new horror survival game from Zombie Studios and uses Unreal Engine 4 technology. Before you start saying "Eh, another horror survival game." and flapping your arms around, check this out... Zombie Studios promises that every time you play this game, it'll be different. *shrugs* I dunno but that sounds pretty intriguing to me.

The game is set to be released for both PC and PS4 game consoles early this year but no specific dates have been given.

Synopsis:
Waking up in an abandoned hospital with only your cell phone for illumination, you explore the institution’s dark criminal past as you attempt to escape. In Daylight no two experiences are the same, and it is best played alone in the dark.

Carrie (2013) - REVIEW

I'm a little late with this one.  I actually saw this about 2 weeks after it came out back in October.  Which is unusual for me because its a remake and I normally don't get too excited about any remake no matter what it is.  It took me till just a couple of weeks ago to watch the Evil Dead remake and quite honestly it wasn't that great but we are talking about the Carrie remake here.  It was due to come out in April of last year but was pushed to an October release instead.  Nothing like making everyone wait another six months to see your movie.

This is were I usually write a synopsis of the film but in this case I really do not think it is necessary.  Every horror fan should know this story by now and if you don't well then I would reconsider calling yourself a horror fan.  Carrie White (Chloe Grace Moretz) is the awkward girl at school that everyone makes fun of and picks on constantly.  She is raised by her very very religious and strange Mother (Julianne Moore) who has kept her sheltered for most of her life from anything evil in the world.  After Carrie gets her period and is treated very cruel about it by the other girls she starts to realize that she has telepathic powers.  Carrie does research and starts to hone in on her powers.  Her life is about to change but not really for the best.

I really thought this was going to be more of a re-imagining rather than a remake but it is actually more of the latter.  Since there was already a remake back in the late 90's that was made for TV I thought for sure they wouldn't do that again so soon.  I was wrong!  I hold this remake a little higher than most of the other ones I have seen though.  I really did enjoy this film and the performances of the entire cast.  Chloe was actually pretty brilliant as Carrie.  Her portrayal of an awkward, backwards girl was very good.  Her mother played ;by Julianne Moore was what you would expect from her.  She is an accomplished actress and she nailed the role right on the head.  The supporting cast was excellent as well.  Namely Judy Greer who played Mrs. Desjardin.  As soon as I saw her on the screen I said "hey it's Fern Mayo".

My final consensus is that I really enjoyed the film but I do not like they made alot of the scenes and the lines identical to the original movie.  I really thought it was going to be a little more original than that.  This version of Carrie is based more off the book than the original movie though.  You can clearly tell the difference when you see it.  I would give this one 6 out of 10 stars.  I would really give it more but the lack of originality really takes away from it.

Gregory Blair Unleashes 8 Terrifying Stills for the Indie Feature Deadly Revisions

Director Gregory Blair’s moody horror film, Deadly Revisions, has completed production. This feature was shot in Los Angeles, with actors Bill Oberst Jr., Dawna Lee Heising and Cindy Merrill. Deadly Revisions tells a terrifying tale of a writer trying to recover his memories, after experiencing an amnesia inducing coma. This title has already released a spooky teaser trailer. And now, several frightening stills have been released by Blair and Good Kids Productions, for this horrifying title!

This psychological thriller focuses on the character Grafton Torn (Oberst Jr.). Torn has lost his memory after recovering from a coma. He experiences nightmarish visions, involving murder. A hypnotherapist helps Torn remember his past life. But, Torn’s horror writing blends reality and fiction together, until nothing is real anymore.

The early stills for Deadly Revisions show several actors and set pieces from the film. Actor Oberst Jr. is shown forefront as Torn, blade in hand. As well, actress Merrill is shown as hypnotherapist Ally, frightened and attacked by Torn. Actor Mikhail Blokh is also shown as Deter, Torn’s best friend. Several of the darker stills show some of Torn’s strange visions, including a small doll and a masked man. All of these stills are now available for fans of indie horror. And, Deadly Revisions is expected to bloody several film festivals in 2014!

2 Bedroom 1 Bath Coming to Theaters January 31st

Al Bravo Studios and Chemical Mind Studios are proud to announce that the independent horror feature 2 Bedroom 1 Bath will launch in theaters January 31st, 2014! This compelling feature hosts a well known cast, including: prolific actor Eric Roberts, horror veteran Dee Wallace, rising star Andrew W. Walkers and starlette Shelby Young. One part The Grudge (2004) and one part Rosemary’s Baby (1968), 2 Bedroom 1 Bath involves one young couple’s torment, during the birth of their first child. A nightmare is born in the New Year!

2 Bedroom 1 Bath is a supernatural ghost story, which focuses on Kevin (Walker) and Rachel (Hicks). At first, they are rejoiced as expectant parents. But, something is not right. The couple experience strange visions and frightening nightmares as the birth of their child draws closer. Rachel and Kevin must deal with a supernatural entity, which wants to haunt their perfect, new home and newborn child.

Crawlspace (1986) - REVIEW

Before I give a movie I haven't seen before I always check out the reviews to see what other people think about it.  Doesn't matter what is said good or bad because I am going to form my own opinion but nevertheless I still do it to just gauge the general public's consensus.  This particular movie held pretty strong criticism and a lot of negative reviews.   I found it on netflix about a year ago and decided to take a chance on it, having never seen a movie with Klaus Kinski in it before.

Karl Gunther (Klaus Kinski) owns an apartment building that he fills with only young women.  Karl is a very demented man who plays russian roulette on a daily basis and is addicted to torturing and killing.  A former doctor of death in Germany who now lives in the states but is not ready to stop what he does best.  To the naked eye he seems like a very quiet, soft spoken gentlemen but when the ladies enter their apartments he is crawling through the ventilation system always watching.  He has seemingly been getting away with everything for a very long time but that is about to change.  After 3 years of searching for him a man has finally tracked him down and is accusing him of killing his brother that was in the hospital under his care.  This is were Karl starts to lose it.  All hell is going to break loose and someone needs to stop what is about to happen!

I can see were all the negative reviews came from when I watched that movie but I have to say I loved it.  The story itself was nothing spectacular but it was enough to please the mind and eyes of this horror slasher junkie.  Another thing I really think that is a big contributor of me loving this film is the performance of Klaus Kinski.  Now I know this movie was made towards the end of his career and it probably was not his best performance but nonetheless I really enjoyed it.  He acts so cool and calm throughout the whole movie it just makes his character all that more intriguing.  I have read the accounts saying how hard to direct and just downright unruly Klaus was but I don't think it affected the movie in my opinion.

Scream Factory has come through again with this Blu Ray release.  I of course had it the day it came out a week ago and the transfer is awesome as well as the special features to boot even a Featurette mixed in there.  This one had been pretty hard to find on DVD with the only release being a double feature with The Attic that has been out of print since 2010.  Perfect for the holidays to have under your tree.  I would rate this film a 7 out of 10 stars.  I am probably alone in that high rating but what can I say.  Stay twisted everyone!

EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL to be guests at Opportunity Village's Magical Forest - PRESS RELEASE

The Opportunity Village Magical Forest, one of the area's most popular and beloved holiday traditions, has invited EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL to celebrate the season at the event by singing their favorite Christmas carols.

On Monday, December 23rd, the cast and crew will be taking pics, signing autographs, and singing some of their favorite Christmas Carols to entertain Magical Forest attendees. The entire cast of the show, as well as crew members, will be at Magical Forest in full force, singing Christmas Carols. All together it will be a small chorus of about 20 people singing some of the season's most cherished carols a cappella.

"The Magical Forest is something that everyone looks forward to at this time of year," said Sirc Michaels, the producer and director of EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL. "And to be a part of that is a real honor for myself and the entire team behind EVIL DEAD."

For those members of the public who worry that a show known for crude jokes, dancing zombies, and blood-covered fans might not seem like a fit for this sort of event, the cast and crew will be leaving the adult themes of EVIL DEAD at the venue and are looking forward to delivering feel-good, family-friendly renditions of holiday classics to attendees of the Magical Forest.
