Teaser Trailer and Casting News for Upcoming Sugar Skull Girls

The Sugar Skull Girls film being produced by Potent Media has officially released a teaser trailer featuring Addy Miller (The Walking Dead) and has jump-started it's fundraising campaign on Indiegogo. The film is reminiscent combination of films like The Dark Crystal (1982) and Hocus Pocus (1993) using visual fx technology in combination with practical puppetry.

The film is about three supernatural sisters who are accidentally conjured during a ritual and escape the wrath of The Pale Witch (Carmela Hayslett) who wants nothing more than to drag them back into her world by their cute little ponytails! The film is also an assembly of old school horror actors joining together to make this fun but frightful Children's film. These actors include: Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes, The Devil's Rejects), John Amplas from Romero's Martin and Day of the Dead, and Leslie Easterbrook (The Devil's Rejects, The Afflicted).

The film will begin shooting this summer. To stay updated:

Extreme Film Auteur Andrey Iskanov Seeks Funding

If you do a Google search on something like “Most Disturbing Films Ever” or “100 Most Brutal Films” or “List of Most Extreme Films” you will inevitably find a list that has the film “Philosophy of A Knife” as the Number One film. If not number one, it will surely be in the top 20. Russian director Andrey Iskanov made a four-hour epic true story of the Japanese atrocities committed against Chinese citizens in what were the equivalent of Japanese Concentration Camps. His film captured all of the brutality of this, and for this reason “POAK” is considered the most brutal, extreme, violent, and sick film ever made.

For the past 6 years, Andrey has been working on his latest epic film, “INGRESSION”. Several years ago he unleashed an unfinished version of the film to the world under the title “The Tourist”. Despite the fact that Andrey felt it was incomplete, the film played at many European Film Festivals and won awards. It is a brilliant, but incomplete film. Andrey first needs to upgrade the quality by remastering the film, and then he needs to film more scenes to make the film the complete and epic masterpiece it was meant to be.

Unfortunately, Andrey Iskanov is such an uncompromising film-maker that he has difficulty getting financial backing, and currently does not have the funds to finish shooting his masterpiece.

That is why Andrey Iskanov is asking for your help.

After midnight tonight on Friday February 29, 2014, Andrey’s indiegogo campaign goes live. He is not asking for $100,000. Or $50,000. Or even half of that. Andrey simply needs $15,000 to finish the film. He needs to pay the dedicated actors in his films who are forced to undergo extreme and unpleasant experiences. He needs to pay for the film and the processing of the film. Very simple things. The film is already so close to complete.

To see a preview of the indiegogo campaign, please go here: http://www.indiegogo.com/project/preview/c1e6b326

To see a preview of the video on youtube go here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVLnudJC2Xk

The campaign is being managed by David L Tamarin, an entertainment attorney, producer, and writer.

Andrey Iskanov and the film-loving community of the world thank you for your support.

Mane Entertainment Gears Up for Penance Lane

Penance Lane is the new horrifying feature coming from Mane Entertainment. The film, written by Munier Sharrieff (Battle Chasers, Battle of the Planets) is the second motion picture from Mane Entertainment, the production house founded by Tyler Mane and Renae Geerlings.

Their first film, Compound Fracture has just secured domestic distribution so look for more information on that coming very soon!! The film which starred Tyler Mane, Muse Watson, Derek Mears and Renae Geerlings just wrapped up screening tour where it has received stellar reviews (check out mine here).

Now they are back at it with Penance Lane. Check out the synopsis:
The population of Chesterton just grew by one. Crimson Matthews, so fresh from the joint you can still see the cuff marks, just dropped his hitch-hiking boots onto Main Street. His car bomb temper has left a trail of shattered windows and broken jaws but Crimson is ready for a fresh start… perhaps wishful thinking considering his weakness for women in trouble.

Chesterton, however, could be a challenge. A ghost of a town since the mine shut down, Chesterton takes care of its own, and Crimson, with his glare and web of tattoos, is definitely an outsider. Then, Father John, guardian of the town's hopes, who owns a dilapidated property on Penance Lane, extends a kindly hand and offers Crimson the job as handyman. Crimson eyes the once-beautiful estate and realizes this is a second chance for the both of them.

But when Crimson uncovers something hidden and long-buried within the walls of Penance Lane he unleashes a world of dark secrets and violent intent. With the threat of being dragged into its hellish depths, will Crimson finally learn when to walk away? Or will he drag the town of Chesterton into this nightmare prison greater than anything he's ever known or even imagined?

The film will star Tyler Mane, Leslie Easterbrook, Renae Geerlings and most recently added, Muse Watson. They have some great perks for donating so be sure to check out their Indiegogo campaign. Donate if you can or share if you can't. Everything helps when you're making a film! You can also keep up with the progress of the film there.

Predatory Moon Kicks Off Indiegogo Campaign

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Indiegogo Campaign for PREDATORY MOON

Ormond Beach, Florida November 2, 2012 - The Indiegogo campaign has begun to raise money to start production on the movie Predatory Moon, a werewolf movie done with all practical effects that will be the directorial debut of F/X artist Shiva Rodriguez.

Shiva Rodriguez is one of the few female directors in the male-dominated indie horror scene. These days most werewolf transformations are done with CGI but Shiva will be doing it with practical effects like the classic film "An American Werewolf In London". Please check out the video on the campaign page to see how she plans on achieving this difficult feat. www.indiegogo.com/predatorymoon

Official website: www.PredatoryMoon.com

Shiva has been in the entertainment industry since 1988, working with theatre and performance art productions before moving into film and video in 2008. While she's best known for her work in practical F/X for stage and screen, she also has experience as an art director, stage manager, costume designer, set decorator, video editor, screenwriter, and producer.

She has done the effects for such movies as “The Housewife Slasher” http://youtu.be/PEg98WKaTtQ “Horrorscapes” http://youtu.be/i8abh3GeTvM “Rough Cut” https://vimeo.com/44494818 and “Dangerous People” https://vimeo.com/39177668

Predatory Moon is a unique werewolf story that takes place near the Florida Everglades. Zoologist Kyle Reading suspects that the violent bear attack he's investigating was actually the work of a far more sinister creature. Acting on his suspicions, he begins to take a closer look at Dean, the sole survivor of the incident who is displaying some very unusual behavior.

Unfortunately for Kyle, there is someone watching him very closely too. Someone who sees an advantage to having a stranger in town who cries “werewolf”.

Predatory Moon is a very old-school style horror film geared toward fans of the genre. This production will be shot on location in Florida in 2013, utilizing a talented cast and crew of local filmmakers, natural locations, and 100% practical effects.

Anti-Bullying Horror Film Red Head Randy Launches Indiegogo Campaign

In honor of National Bully Prevention Month Raymond Deane Films presents the Anti-Bullying Horror Film "Red Head Randy"

Red Head Randy is a feature film about a high school student named Randy who is bullied and beat up for being different. Classmates make fun of him because he is a homosexual. They tease him about his red hair, his clothes and the way he talks. They call him derogatory comments like faggot, ginger kid & foreign freak everyday. The kids gave him the nickname "RedHead Randy" and created a cyberbully site where they posted mean and hateful things about him. They made his years in highschool a living hell. Feeling lonely and abandoned Randy committed suicide to escape from his life. Like many other children who have made this deadly decision, Randy felt he had no other way out. But there was something very different about Randy. His sadness turned to pure anger. Randy cried so much that his tears turned to blood. He had become so enraged in vengeance that his spirit turned evil. The anger he felt tainted his soul. It became possesed at the moment of death. His spirit returned to earth to seek revenge on all bullies, everywhere. But first, he must start with the kids who bullied him.

Help us make the 1st Anti-Bully Horror Movie! Lets scare the SHIT outta Bullies and stand up for equality for the LGBT community!

PIX/SEE Productions Announces New Horror Film SCARE TACTICS

Award winning Gregory Blair will direct horror film favorite Bill Oberst, Jr. in SCARE TACTICS — a twisted valentine to the genre. Blair, who also penned the script, says “Horror is fun to write. I get goose bumps writing the stuff; that’s when I know it’s working.”

“Gregory has a talent for writing great scripts,” co-producer Roxy Shih of Good Kids Productions said. "SCARE TACTICS totally freaked me out and I knew I wanted to be involved!”

Bill Oberst, Jr. is virtually a horror icon. His unsettling screen presence has haunted dozens of horror films and his role in “Take This Lollipop”--the most popular (and frightening) application in Facebook history has made him an international phenomenon.

In SCARE TACTICS, Bill plays horror film writer Grafton Torn for whom hypnotherapy and nightmares reveal memories that might or might not be real…and that might or might not be deadly.

“I’m usually the bad guy,” Oberst says. “But SCARE TACTICS lets me be the one getting tormented. The question is...by who? Or what? It’s great because all of the horror fans I know are bored with clichés. SCARE TACTICS plays with all the clichés and twists them around. So it’s really fun.”

Blair recently took top honors in the Horror Screenwriting Contest for another horror screenplay, THE SISTERHOOD. That’s when he approached Bill with SCARE TACTICS. “We had been talking about working together,” Blair says. “THE SISTERHOOD wasn't the right vehicle for Bill, but SCARE TACTICS seemed a perfect fit. How fun would it be, we both thought, to have Bill on the other end of the hatchet for a change?”

Blair and Oberst are betting it will be fun. Bloody good fun.

Bring Me the Head of Lance Henriksen

In case you haven't heard, the very talented actor, producer, writer, director, SUPER sexy Michael Worth is currently working on an Indie film that tackles ageism in Hollywood. Great concept right?? He's teamed up with film icons like Lance Henriksen, Tim Thomerson, Adrienne Barbeau, George Cheung, John Saxon and many more to shine some light on the dwindling roles for the more "experienced" actor.

I'm not sure why I haven't written about this before now. I guess the 65 hours left on the Indiegogo campaign lit a fire under my ass. The campaign has raised a good bit but as any filmmaker or fan knows, it takes A LOT to make a good film. This is a project that I have much faith in and am proud to be a part of in a small, miniscule, ok not really but sort of kind of way. Make sense? Yeah probably not. BUT, it's definitely worth checking out. They have all kinds of great perks for donations for as little as $1 and as much as $500 so at least visit and get a feel for what they're trying to do. Every dollar counts and if you are unable to donate you can still support it by helping to spread the word.

You can keep up with the progress of Bring Me the Head of Lance Henriksen on Twitter by following @HenriksensHead or @MichaelWorth or check it all out on Facebook as well. AND, while you're at it, head over the super awesome BACKTOFRANKBLACK.COM and get the scoop from Michael himself as he talks with those guys about the project.
