Indie Horror Icon Bill Oberst Jr attached to "Slay Utterly" - PRESS RELEASE
CHICAGO, ILL. – Filmmaker Stuart Wahlin announced horror icon Bill Oberst Jr. is attached to Slay Utterly, both as an actor and a producer. The film, to be shot in 2014, is a modern adaptation inspired by the Villisca (Iowa) ax murders of 1912, which were also the subject of Wahlin’s 2013 documentary, The Ax Man Enigma, which built a compelling case pointing to a lone “Ax Man” being responsible for dozens of eerily-similar murders throughout the nation’s heartland during a two-year period.
Slay Utterly will be the writer-director’s second feature film. Wahlin’s first narrative feature, Hand of Glory (2012), earned the filmmaker “Best Director’ at the Prairie State Film Festival in Chicago last year, and “Best Actress” for Heather Dorff (Truth or Dare, What They Say).
Having earned over a hundred credits in a five-year period, Oberst is considered the hardest-working actor in horror, if not indie film as a whole. Among numerous awards and accolades, Oberst recently took home “Best Actor” from the Pollygrind Underground Film Festival in Las Vegas for his role in Coyote, which also won “Best Picture.”
“Bill is much more than just a horror actor,” Wahlin said of his film’s star. “He’s a tremendously-talented artist who’s going to win an Oscar someday. Though I think his fans will get what they expect from him, this a film that gives Bill a little more depth to flex his acting prowess in a very conflicted, sympathetic role.”

3 New Posters Released for Ditch Day Massacre - PRESS RELEASE
Water Tree Media Releases Three New Posters for Joe Hendrick's Ditch Day Massacre
“There’s Hell to Pay for Cutting Class!”
Water Tree Media has completed production on the slasher film Ditch Day Massacre, recently. This horrifying film stars Bill Oberst Jr., Katy Foley and Zack Silverman, in a ditch party gone violently wrong. Megan Waters is the producer of this exciting feature. Also,Ditch Day Massacre is a throwback to the tense style of filmmaking from the ‘80s; the killer’s motivations are kept in mystery, until the bloody end. Now, horror fans can preview this feature and channel its course by picking their favourite poster, from the three just released.
The three posters each have their distinctive style. The first graphic shows actor Bill Oberst Jr. as Vick, poised with a nasty looking wood axe. It is simple and scary. The second poster gives us a glimpse of the house where several teens are throwing a high school ditch party. Above the house, the maniac looms above, like a demented reaper. Finally, the third poster features the terrorized teen Jenny, played by Katy Foley. The character Mike (Zack Silverman) can also be seen. Which poster do you like best?
Writer Daniel Coughlin knows the importance of conceptualizing and designing a proper look for a film. Coughling states of these posters and others: “there are those posters that you never forget…like the original Maniac - the artwork draws you in, grabs you and forces you to watch the movie." Graphic artist Jake Deardorff has designed each poster. And now, it is time for fans to pick their favourite.
A contest for picking the best poster will be held at the the Ditch Day Massacre fan page, which can be found here:
https://www.facebook.com/TheFilmDitch?fref=ts
The winning graphic will be showcased at several upcoming film festivals. Producer Waters says of the upcoming festival run: “it's going to be a fun-filled, gory, thrill ride from the opening image to the end credits." The film’s World Premiere will be announced shortly.

First time director Joe Hendrick’s collaborative efforts with horror screenwriter/author Daniel P. Coughlin (Lake Dead, Farmhouse) and sibling actor/writer Ryan Coughlin (Back Slash, “Jericho”) promise to keep us begging for more twisted story, practical gore and scantily clad scenery.

Assassins 2011 (Short Film) - Review
Starting with our main character Nathan (Bill Oberst Jr) sitting in his car waiting for the right time. He walks into the apartment he was sitting outside of. Walking in and knowing someone has just done a job here and is nowhere to be seen. The person that did the job was in the bathroom reflecting on the terrible thing he had just done. He comes out to find Nathan sitting at the kitchen table drinking a glass of water. He puts his gun to Nathan's head and threatens his life. Nathan being the quick talker that he is calmly convinces him to sit across from him and put his gun down. They talk about the job that was just done. You will never believe what happens next!
This film was put together very well, from the direction all the way to the acting by our 2 main characters. It was directed by Michael Bonomo who did an outstanding job with this. The angles and the subtle violence that graces the screen. The only acting in this film is done by Bill Oberst Jr really. He is as brilliant in this as anything he has done in his career. Very cool, calm and collected almost like he is as comfortable on in front of the camera as watching football on Sunday afternoon with a beer in hand.
I thoroughly enjoyed this film from beginning to end. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. I am also excited to add that this is being made into a feature film. The Indiegogo campaign will start Monday April 23rd. The feature film will also star Bill Oberst Jr as Nathan the Assassin. Because of the quality of this short and the fact that we want to be able to share with everyone the short film in its entirety on Twisted Central. Below is the You Tube link that you can view the film in its entirety. I hope you all enjoy this as much as I did. Also you can click here http://indiegogo.com/Assassins if you would like to support the feature film project.
