Trophy Heads 2014 - REVIEW

Being the fan of Full Moon Pictures that I am, I was really excited for this to be released on DVD finally.  Trophy Heads is a Full Moon 6 part mini series that premiered on their streaming service last year in the separate installments.  They took all the episodes and edited into one movie.  Full Moon always manages to pull off a lot of cheesy fun with their films but their more recent films have really been hit or miss.  With a cast full of scream queens from the 80's and 90's what could go wrong??

Max (Adam Noble Roberts) is an obsessed fan of horror movies and the scream queens who played in them.  He is depressed that they get older and the movies that they appeared in are eventually forgotten.  Max and his Mom (Maria Olsen) set out to kidnap his 6 favorite scream queens: Linnea Quigley, Brinke Stevens, Michelle Bauer, Denise Duff, Darcy DeMoss and Jacqueline Lovell.  He forces them to reenact scenes from their movies as he attempts to kill them and cut off their head for a hanging trophy. Will this all fold out the way he expects?

I really expected a lot from this movie with the awesome cast that is in it and I was not disappointed at all.  Charles Band really out did himself this time and made a slam dunk.  Everything about this movie is a fun old fashion slasher film.  What really makes this movie great was the talented cast and the ability to still be able to steal the show.  I'm a fan of everyone of these ladies and they do not disappoint.  There are even a few cameos that you may recognize also.

All in all if you are looking for a good horror film that is a blast to watch, look no further and pick this one up.  It would be kind of cool if they could do another one like this and have 6 more scream queens to kidnap.  I would be all in for that.  I would have to give this one 7 out of 10 stars.  Definitely worth the price of purchase.

Live in Fear to Premiere at United Film Festival in September

Burbank, CA (July 22, 2014) Producers Brandon Scullion and Maria Olsen are proud to announce the world premiere of “Live-In Fear” at the United Film Festival on September 5, 2014.

LIVE-IN FEAR stars Sarah Greyson, Arielle Brachfeld, David Lautman, and Chris Dorman and is Las Vegas native Brandon Scullion’s first feature film as a writer/director. Deeply rooted in mystery and shot on a budget of only $5,000 in Brian Head, UT, the film holds true to the DIY tradition of low-budget filmmaking – only using resources readily available to the filmmakers to capture truly disturbing and graphic imagery. It is sure to lurk in one’s minds for weeks after viewing.

Live-In Fear will have its world premiere at the United Film Festival on September 5th, 2014 at 9:30pm in Los Angeles, CA. Tickets are available for purchase here.

“And to think I only started Live-In Fear as a “practice film.” It turned into something much grander and I couldn't be more proud. I’m very excited for everyone to see it and so happy and grateful to be having the world premiere at the United Film Festival!” Brandon Scullion, Writer/Director

"Co-producing Live-In Fear was a wonderful adventure – I learned SO much! – And it’s absolutely amazing to see how the project has developed and grown since we started our shoot one frosty morning in Utah so many months ago. Brandon Scullion and the entire cast and crew are just so incredibly talented! I anticipate seeing great things from them in future and can’t wait to work with them again.” Maria Olsen, Producer, MOnsterworks66

Synopsis:
On February 28, 2002, four emotionally distant friends traveled to a remote condo in the snowcapped Utah Mountains for what was supposed to be a time for them to come together and mend their relationships. On the ride up, Seth suspiciously proclaims that his mother has died from unknown causes but he conveniently left out the part where he is being haunted by increasingly disturbing visions of her. On arrival, the four friends start to lash out at each other and end up only driving themselves further apart as a destructive cult hell-bent on resurrecting an ancient cosmic god emerges to torment them.

Live-In Fear was shot on location in Brian Head, UT and Los Angeles, CA.
