The Lashman to Premiere at the 13th Annual Full Moon Horror Film Festival


Nashville, TN (02.25.2014) Red Headed Revolution Pictures has unleashed a brand new theatrical trailer for the upcoming feature length horror film The Lashman directed by Cameron McCasland.

The Lashman is a tale of terror. When five friends set out for a weekend excursion, they soon realize their campfire tales have turned into their worst nightmares.

The Lashman stars Stacey Dixon, Shawn C. Phillips, David Vaughn, Jeremy Jones, Kaylee Williams, Tim Emery, Lee Vervoort, David Chattham, Terry Gragg, Todd Bush, Alea Jordan, Joe Downing and Larry Underwood. The movie was shot on location in western Kentucky.

The Lashman marks the feature length film debut of Cameron McCasland who wrote, produced, and directed the movie. McCasland honed his film making skills in television directing music videos as well as the award winning made for TV movie, The Dreadful Hallowgreen Special, and Go Green With Dr. Gangrene series of short films.

Almost 4 years in the making this theatrical trailer offers the first real glimpses of McCaslands backwoods boogeyman. As well as the first listen to the newly minted score composed and performed by Thomas Berdinski. McCasland said of the movie. “We know people have waited a long time to see this film. We took our time putting it together, and I think we have made something really special. I am looking forward to unleashing The Lashman into the world. Fans of Slasher movies, and legendary fright tales are really going to dig this one.”

The Lashman is set for a world premiere Saturday April 19th 2014 at the 13th Annual Full Moon Horror Film Festival In Nashville, TN Members of the cast and crew will be on hand for a Q&A following the screening. Horror Short Film Contest Set To Invade Bucket City


Dr. Gangrene and Culture Cringe Give You The Heebee Jeebees.

Nashville horror host Dr. Gangrene is teaming with Culture Cringe for the First Annual Heebie Jeebies Horror Short Film Festival. The one night event will showcase horror short films made locally in the middle Tennessee area as well as around the globe.

Dr. Gangrene said of the festival, “I'm excited to partner with Culture Cringe for the Heebie Jeebies film festival. They've been doing some exciting events in Murfreesboro, and their energy and enthusiasm will help make this an exciting event!”

Films will be screened September 29th 2012 at 3 Brothers Deli and Brewhouse located in the heart of Murfreesboro Tennesee, followed by an Award Scaremony honoring the best of the festival. Awards will be given for Best Director, Actor, Actress, Funniest Short, Scariest Short, Best Music Video, a best young film maker award and the Grand Prize of the festival will presented with the coveted Cringie Statue. Winners will also be included on a dvd release from Shackle Island Studios and Culture Cringe and aired on THE CW on Dr. Gangrene Presents television program.

Alongside Dr. Gangrene the festival is being curated by Benjamin Kaboom of Culture Cringe and film maker Cameron McCasland. McCasland said of the films being selected to screen, “I think everyone involved with Heebie Jeebies likes the idea of No Budget Lo-Fi film making. People just picking up a camera and shooting something that scares them, inspires them, makes them laugh, whatever. We want something different. It doesn’t have to be slick to make a good movie. I honestly just love the idea of friends running around in back yards and city streets making monster movies for the hell of it. Thats the stuff I want to see! ”

Alpha Video to Distribute The Dreadful Hallowgreen Special

Alpha Video has announced that it has obtained U.S. home video distribution rights to the 2010 made for television movie ‘The Dreadful Hallowgreen Special’. After winning rave reviews following its broadcast last Halloween, the film will be released on DVD April 26, 2011 .

The Dreadful Hallowgreen Special pairs TV horror hosts Penny Dreadful (Danielle Gelehrter) & Dr. Gangrene (Larry Underwood) together. The duo finds themselves readying for the upcoming Halloween season when suddenly all things go awry. It’s up to the physician of fright, Dr. Gangrene, and the eerie enchantress, Penny Dreadful, to set things right and save Halloween for everyone in this half hour special. Narrated by Washington DC’s legendary horror host Count Gore De Vol, this Halloween treat is packed with fright.

The DVD retails at $7.99 and will include the extended cut of the film with footage not aired in the original half hour broadcast version. In addition to ‘The Dreadful Hallowgreen Special’ the DVD will include an all new half hour special entitled ‘Trailer Terror’ hosted by Penny Dreadful & Dr. Gangrene, which has the hosts introducing some of their favorite classic horror film trailers.

Dr. Gangrene said "It is a privilege to work with Alpha Video, a favorite of mine for a very long time, so I was glad we could make this happen. We can now reach a larger audience with the Dreadful HallowGreen Special at an affordable price for our fans."

DVD bonus features include a gallery of artwork, trailers, bios, shorts, bloopers and outtakes. In addition the dvd will contain rarely seen Penny Dreadful footage from her live Holiday Specials and eight public service short films from the Emmy nominated series “Go Green With Dr. Gangrene”.

The Dreadful Hallowgreen Special is a co-production of Shackle Island Studios and Peculiar Productions. Cast and crew members from Dr. Gangrenes Creature Feature, and Penny Dreadful’s Shilling Shockers produced segments in both Massachusetts and Tennessee, as well as California and Washington D.C.. The film was co-directed by Cameron McCasland and Rebecca Paiva.

In celebration of the DVD release ‘The Dreadful Hallowgreen Special’ will be making a special big screen appearance at this years Wonderfest during the Saturday Night Chiller Cinema Live Event hosted live by Dr. Gangrene and Penny Dreadful on May 15th 2011.

Red Headed Revolution Pictures Unleash “The Lashman” A Cameron McCasland Film

Red Headed Revolution Pictures has debuted the teaser trailer for “The Lashman” from filmmaker Cameron McCasland. The teaser trailer coincides with the first poster image and website launch of Lashmanmovie.com

The Lashman is a tale of Terror. Five friends set out for a weekend camping excursion to find that their camp fire tales have turned into their worst nightmares.

The Lashman features a bevy of fresh faces. including Stacey Dixon (Monster Cruise, Old Habits Die Hard), Shawn C. Phillips (Assault of the Sasquatch, Banshee, TV’s Look), Jeremy Jones (Decision, TV’s Dreadful Hallowgreen Special) David Vaughn
(Crazy Girl), and Kaylee Williams (The Many Monsters of Sarah Roth, Zombie Babies).

The movie was filmed on location in Western Kentucky in the Summer of 2010 and is written, produced, and directed by Cameron McCasland marking his debut as a feature film director, after a number of music video and television directing work.

Also joining the terror stricken ensemble are Lee Vervoort (Gun Town, Last Kind Words), Todd Bush (Country Strong, TV’s Tough Trade) Terry Gragg (Nickel Children, Outlaw Country) Tim Emery (Gun Town), Bob King (Daultry Calhoun, Make Out With Violence) David Chattam (21 Grams, The Last Castle) and Larry Underwood (TV’s Dr. Gangrene’s Creature Feature)

Cameron McCasland is an Emmy nominated filmmaker, and winner of the Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award for his work on the Go Green With Dr. Gangrene series. The Texas born director lives in Nashville, TN with his wife and 2 daughters. In 2010 McCasland directed the made for television movie “The Dreadful HallowGreen Special” which aired across the United States and is currently nominated for best short film at the Rondo Awards.
