Top 5 Horror Films of 1982

Continuing with the list 1982 has 5 more great horror films to add to the equation.  Well, actually 1982 has more than 5 great horror films like any year but we are only doing 5.  In this year we have an evil house  making a return, an iconic hockey mask be donned by a deformed killer and silver shamrocks.

We start off with another great slasher film of the early 80's.  I just saw this movie last year and completely loved it.  I mean how can you not love a movie with Julia Montgomery.  For those of you that don't know her by name she is Betty from Revenge of the Nerds.  I also have to mention the always enjoyable actress Rutanya Alda.

This is my favorite entry in the Amityville franchise.  This is actually a prequel the the original and in my opinion is a way better movie.  It has a great cast with the standout being a young Diane Franklin.  This movie has mixed reviews from horror fans but I really enjoyed how dark and downright evil this movie was.

Friday the 13th Part III is not my favorite of the Friday franchise but I will say I have probably watched this one more than the rest.  The story itself is full of holes but I really like the cast in this one and of course the look of Jason in this film.  To me Richard Brooker has been the best Jason.

This is another movie that has horror fans divided.  Some really love it and it has a pretty big following but to some this movie was terrible.  Mainly because it had the title of Halloween and there is no sign of Michael Myers, Dr Sam Loomis, or Laurie Strode.  A movie that took an entirely different direction.  I a huge fan of this film and think it would have done alot better just being entitled Season of the Witch.

My #1 of 1982 is the classic slasher film Slumber Party Massacre.  This Roger Corman classic is one of my favorite films of all time.  At a time when everyone was trying to leave their mark in the horror world this one stands out above the rest.  Maybe not as much publicity as a Halloween or Friday the 13th movie but is a solid slasher all the same.
